What Are The Mechanical Faults Of CNC Lathes?

Nov 03, 2023

The types of mechanical failures in CNC lathes. Generally speaking, the types of faults can be divided into the following.

1. Functional failure. Mainly refers to faults in the machining accuracy of workpieces, manifested as unstable machining accuracy, large machining errors, large reverse motion errors, and high surface roughness of workpieces.

2. Sports type malfunction. Mainly refers to various operational faults of the machine tool, manifested as non rotation of the spindle, inflexibility of hydraulic speed change, insufficient clamping of the workpiece, and low positioning accuracy of the turret tool holder.

3. Structural failure. Mainly refers to spindle heating, high spindle box noise, and generation of cutting vibration.

4. Usage type malfunction. Mainly refers to malfunctions caused by improper use and operation, such as mechanical damage and collisions caused by overload.

Various mechanical faults can be solved through careful maintenance and adjustment, such as adjusting the clearance, oil supply, air pressure, flow rate, pre tightening force of bearings and ball screws, and repairing leaks. For components that are worn, damaged, or have lost their function, they can be repaired or replaced to troubleshoot. It is difficult to eliminate faults caused by poor rigidity of the bed structure, high cutting vibration, and poor manufacturing quality.
