The Machining Characteristics And Machining Objects Of CNC Lathes
Nov 01, 2023
1. High difficulty processing
Formed surface parts, non-standard pitch (or lead), variable pitch, equal pitch, or spiral parts with smooth transitions between cylindrical and conical rotating surfaces can all be machined on CNC lathes.
2. High precision part processing
The precision requirements of parts mainly refer to the precision requirements of size, shape, position, and surface, among which the surface precision mainly refers to the surface roughness: ultra precision parts such as rotary drums in copiers, magnetic heads on recorders, and multi sided reflectors on laser printers, with a geometric contour accuracy of up to 0.01um and a surface roughness value of Ra0.02um. These high-precision parts can be processed on special precision CNC lathes.
3. Processing of Hardened Workpieces
In large-scale mold processing, there are many large-sized and complex shaped parts. These parts have a large amount of deformation after heat treatment, making grinding difficult. However, ceramic turning tools can be used on CNC lathes to turn hardened parts, replacing grinding with turning to improve machining efficiency.
4. Efficient processing
In order to further improve the efficiency of turning, by increasing the control coordinate axis of the lathe, two identical or different parts with multiple processes can be processed simultaneously on a CNC lathe.
